Welcome you to the 2 nd annual Founder's Day - Volunteer Celebration. Tonight we honor our volunteers and those individuals who will become part of the Old Town Playhouse Hall of Fame: including Jerry Hager and Kasey Kilpatrick - our guests of honor this evening.

First and foremost, we'd like to thank all of our many volunteers, without whom we could not produce the magical theatrical works that grace our 2 stages each season nor keep this wonderful building warmed and welcoming to those who tread here.

It is always difficult to determine who should receive particular credit, for credit must go to many generally.

Our costumers who slave tirelessly for our productions, especially last year's 1776... Nancy Albrecht Sue Warner Ellie Stevens Kathy Verstraete Pinkie Hoffman And Donna Hood who also designed the very original costumes for Peter Pan

Our musicians many of whom play each of our musicals year in and year out, especially Joe Rice, Sam Clark, Fred Szczepanski ... musical directors for the 2001-2002 season Tom Stokes ... vocal director And Paulette Parsons And Susan Snyder ... pianists and accompanists And all the orchestra musicians who allow us to sing the songs

Still there are those who we honor more specifically. There are many reasons that these individuals can be honored ... perhaps that is why they stand out among us. Tonight's recipient's of the Volunteer Service awards are:

Kelly Curtis: For her work on maintaining the VOTS network keeping many members connected and informed.

Don Kuehlhorn: For his ongoing work with the Theatre Web Archives and Member's page content.

Mollie Thompson: For her assistance with the office and Season Brochure Mailing

Judy Heffron: For going above and beyond her hourly commitment to the ticket office and volunteering her time to managing Season Tickets.

Bill Floto: For his work painting our Backstage areas this past year.

Candy Morse: For the many ways she helps administratively for OTP and TCCT, but most importantly for her work in Advertising Sales

Deb Bowman: Unless I miss my guess, for willingly working on virtually everything this past season.

Gary Bolton: For his continuing work with the Black & White Gala Production.

Kerri Moses: Who, like Deb Bowman, seems to be involved in everything plus! For her Omnipresence.

Ann Norris: Who, along with Kerri Moses, kept Mike Carney's vision of a Crockpot Theatre alive and well.

Andrea Geiger: Who almost single handedly became the best kid wrangler of them all during Peter Pan, especially managing them through the grueling 2 show day.

And

This year's Quiet Man Award goes to George Beeby..who deals with much around the playhouse in his inimitable style and fashion - from house management to Board duties, especially his work with TCCT.

Of special note 3 certificates go to;

Tina Norris Fields of NMC for her assistance with the office by bringing her computer skills to bear.

Bill Buchbinder of Bluewater Sail & Canvas for creating the harnesses for Peter Pan

And Mike Wehr of Arms and Cole for his engineering expertise with winch and flying system for Peter Pan.

In addition to our Volunteer Service Awards are the Recipients of this year's Directors' Award for Excellence. They are:

Jean Friday: for her work with the Traverse City Children and Teen Theatre. For her work in their box office, and her assistance in keeping parents involved and working with the organization. Also for her work managing the Box office for the Studio theatre all season.

Michael Nunn: for doing the near impossible, making Peter Pan Fly. For his creation of the eminently serviceable Flying Apparatus.

Al Lien: For his continuing commitment to Set Construction
