CHERRY ROYALE PARADE FLOAT
A great big thank you goes out to all who participated in our float project for the Cherry Royale Parade. The effort brought us an award for “Best in Non-Profit “category.
SPECIAL THANKS TO:
Mike Nun and Joe Rice for their all night duty at the construction site.
Al Thompson for keeping the float from hitting any wires or traffic signals on the parade route.
Marty Wolf for the wonderful and most welcome lunch after the parade.
Kathy Verstraete and Bradley Roswell for the costumes
Margaret Ann Slawson for driving her red convertible.
Jeff Splolwski for driving his blue convertible.
Elnora Milliken, June Neal Casey Kilpatrick, Jerry Hager and Bev Atwood (Founders and Hall of Fame recipients)
All committee members, marchers, construction crew, “Renters”, “Cats” and “Patsy Cline”
The whole experience was great fun and gave the Playhouse very positive exposure for our 50th Anniversary.
VOLUNTEER PICNIC
Our first summer picnic held on Saturday, July 25th was very successful. There was a great turn out of OTP volunteers and everyone had fun with good food, games, boat rides and swimming. The volunteer of the year award was presented to Bradley Roswell and the Peg Brace award was presented to Jeff Kroeger…well deserved in each case.
A special thank you to Rick Korndorfer who was the driving force behind this event. Both Rick and Jeff Kroeger were responsible for most of the set up and clean up.
We have decided to make the summer picnic an annual event; however, it will be held on the Saturday after the Cherry Festival and before the Film Festival. Mark your calendars now for next year’s event.
