The Last Line
March 27, 2006
The set has been struck, the costumes put away, our little “dressing room” is back to being the empty space behind the studio theatre, and Martin will no longer get to come in to find a misplaced piece of underclothing in his office. I hope everyone had as good of a time as I did. I have never house managed with such a wonderful crew. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!
Some of you were new to the theatre. Just because Rocky is over does not mean you have to go away. There is always something to do. Audition, work backstage, sign up to usher for another show. Hopefully we will see you all again at some point in some capacity.
And one more time, THANK YOU! For everything!
Greetings my wonderful sluts. And you are wonderful! You made getting through the Old Town Playhouse’s first ever midnight show possible. Thank you for everything!
And now, REST UP! You have TWO DAYS! I heard some voices getting a little weak on Saturday by 2 AM. We need you at your best. Besides, its not as much fun when you’re not feeling well. (As I well know after Saturday night.)
Also, Nice change (or removal of) attire for the midnight show. However, I look forward to seeing you all in your “usual”, original slutty costumes on Wednesday. By the way, anyone know where I can find a whip? I needed one for this guy in the first row of Section D Saturday night.
Also, remember to keep posted in case we are needed to create more Hot Sex- I mean Sax.
Also, a reminder that Sunday the 26th is strike. A time will be given later. This is when everything is put away after the show, the stage is broken down, the props put up, the costumes put away, etc. Everyone’s help is needed. Our area will need to be “struck” at this time also.
And usually immediately after the last show there is a bit of a gathering to say thank yous etc. We’ll let you know details about this as well.
Here is the schedule for this week. REMEMBER WE HAVE A WEDNESDAY SHOW! If there are any problems, let us know.

THANK YOU!! THANK YOU!!! THANK YOU!!! What a great little crew of sluts and pimps we have! You all have been great in dealing with the audiences, doing the audience participation and not taking it too far, getting people seated on time, dressing quickly afterward, and, most importantly, having FUN!
Be sure to get a little extra rest this week because next weekend will be a busy one. Keep in mind that, besides having two shows on Saturday and one of them being the midnight show, we also have St. Patrick’s Day on Friday. And thank God for the Irish but they do tend to drink a wee bit.
One note: Be sure to be in section D by 7:15 dressed and ready to go. We need to make sure everyone is there on time in case there are any issues to discuss.
Also, extra sluts are always welcome even if you are not scheduled.
Please note, if you have to change a time you are scheduled for or can’t make it please let us know. Also, if something comes up the day of or evening of the show (you’re on your way to the theatre and have a flat tire and have to stop by a castle to use the phone and get laid by a bunch of aliens, for example) please call the house managers scheduled for that night. The one not scheduled may not be in a space to assist you. (May still be at work, for example, trying to figure out how to get the sonic transducer to work or perhaps trying to make a playmate)

Hello Transylvanian Ushers and Usherettes! Hope your week is going well and you are not as insanely busy as I have been—we need to reserve the insanity for the weekend.
First off—THANK YOU!!!!! For all of your wonderful work this past weekend. There were no problems to speak of, we sold tons of Hot Sax and t- shirts, the audience participation lines were great and we even got the boxes of Hot Sax moved. There is also a box of Hot Sax leftovers in our dressing area should anyone need any more props for a little extra fun. We have picked these up when people have left them.
Important Note! Don has asked that we get as many ushers and usherettes as possible to be at the theatre between the 8 and midnight show on March 18th for pictures. This would at approximately 10pm. That is when he will be taking cast and crew pictures and they would like all of us as well. If you can possibly be there, at least for a picture, that would be great. And all of you can stay for the midnight show if you like as we may need some extra help for any craziness that may ensue.
A few other notes:
Dick has asked us not to change or hang out in the Green Room or backstage. This area is traditionally for cast and crew only and, although we are a cast and crew of our own, it gets really crowded and busy back there. Also, it should be a place for those actors getting ready to perform to get into their roles or space.
Dick has also asked us to change as quickly as possible after the show. For the most part we have been great about this but we did run a little late Saturday, although it was because we were moving boxes, not because we were just hanging around.
Leaving your costume at the theatre over the week may not be a great idea. During the weekend (Thurs, Friday, Sat) it will be fine but during the week there are other people running about such as Children’s Theatre and other shows rehearsing.
Transylvanian Usher and Usherette Schedule for this Weekend:
(Again, let one of the house managers know if you need to change or can’t make it at the last minute. We have our cell phones with us at the theatre.)

Hello Transylvanians! Thank you to everyone who could be at Tech Sunday today. As you can see, we may need some practice getting the lines in correctly. Don’t worry, it will be there.
First off, I need to apologize for my major screw up of the day. I copied the wrong script and Tracey then made everyone copies of the wrong script. Not to worry, we made some correct copies for today and we will fix the ones Tracey made.
I will be at rehearsal every night this week. I believe Chris and Brenda plan to be there also. I hope most of you can make it for at least one rehearsal before we open.
Speaking of rehearsals, they will be as follows:
Monday February 27th- 8:00 pm (I think I told a few people 7:00, sorry, my bad (again)- I was corrected by the Hot Patooties’ leader that it is indeed 8:00 ) This means that the cast will do warm ups, notes, etc. and will start the show at 8:00.
Tuesday February 28th- 8:00 pm rehearsal UNLESS we are dark. There was a rumor that there is a 95% chance that we will be dark. (Another piece of info from those Hot Patooties.)
Wednesday March 1st- 8:00 pm rehearsal
Thursday March 2nd- Dress Rehearsal- We go up at 8:00 just like a show so ushers need to be there in costume at 7:00 and ready to go at 7:15 (meet near D section)
Friday March 3rd- Opening Night!
Ushers and Usherettes can dress and leave clothes, bags, etc. downstairs in the area behind the studio theatre next to the kitchen. There will be a coat rack and mirrors there. It will give us an out of the way place to put our stuff that is relatively secure. I will check Monday to make sure we can leave costumes there or, if not, where we can leave them. Those of you who have been involved in musicals before know how crowded the dressing room and green room can get so it will be good for us to have a place of our own. A side note, however, is that usually on opening night there is a reception in the studio theatre. We may need to keep this in mind when getting changed out of costume or getting our belongings. But we do get to eat.
A few other important notes:
Remember that as of Thursday, you are not to park in the playhouse lot.
Flashlights are a good thing. There is a box of flashlights for the ushers to use, but if you have your own feel free to bring it. Better yet, make one a part of your costume.
There will be a show (thank goodness for those Hot Patooties for keeping us informed) on Wednesday the 22nd. Inside source says that tickets have already been sold for said show.
Usher schedule for opening weekend (let us know if you need to change anything):
Friday March 3- House Managers: Chris and Brenda
Ushers: Annaka Schultz, Kayla Ginop, Norm Jones, Jordan Theakston, Shirl Wac, Margaret Ann Slawson, Mallory Glover, Juston Korson
Saturday March 4- House Managers: Sherri and Brenda
Ushers: Renee Chwastek, Emmy Graham, Becca Walton, Margaret Ann Slawson, M’lynn Hartwell, Patti Herron, Lauren Ragan, Kate Parks.
Feb. 19, 2006 Monday
Good Morning Transylvanian Ushers and Usherettes! I will try to use this site to keep you updated on the happenings about Frankenfurter’s Castle.
Rehearsals
this week are Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday at 7:00pm. Monday there
will be no band.
Tech
Sunday is Sunday February 26th at 12:00 noon. I am told
that this is when rehearsal will start. If this changes, I will post
it here.
It
is not required that you be at any of these, but it would be good to
check at least one or two rehearsals out before the show opens.
Dress
Rehearsal is Thursday, March 2nd. This is just like a
regular show and starts at 8:00 pm, ushers should be in costume and
ready by 7:15. House will open at 7:30 BUT this is not an open dress
rehearsal. The general public is not invited. It would be great if
as many ushers as possible were at dress rehearsal.
I
will have 2 or 3 scripts marked with the audience responses by
Tuesday night February 20th. It has been suggested that I
put these in the props room in or near the props table, not in the
green room. (The props room is adjacent to the green room, closest
to the stairwell).
During the run of the show, the ushers and usherettes are not to do the time warp during the first act of the show. We will do it at the end of the show.
Also,
along the same line, we are not to sing along with the chorus during
the show.
More
updates will follow.
Have
a great week and practice those time warp steps!
