JOURNALS
Donald Kuehlhorn, Prof. Plum
July 19, 2006
I don't know if this has ever happened to me. I had to leave the
show! Darn mortgage keeps me working a 9-5 and this month of September
the 9-5 will have me out of town most of the weekends. Now some
might say that i was afraid to work with Al Lien as he is a top notch
director and may ask a lot moreof me then i got! Weelllll, taint so.
That's my story and i am sticking to it!!! I will miss the show though
and the opportunity to work woth the others, many of whom i haven't
worked with. As always, there will be a next time.
July 16, 2006,
time to hitch up the 'ol harness again. I have been cast and the boards
await. We begin as we always begin, sitting around a table and reading
the script, with all parts read by others, for the first time. I say
"read by others" because as a good auditioner i read the script to get
a sense of the play plus to determine if there was a role for me. Now i
hear it with other people interpreting the lines. It wasn't ALL the
some though! I write this journal in the dark so to speak. We had
a dozzie of a thunder storm roll through before rehearsal started and i
lost power at my house. 3 hours later still no power. We had some
people showed late and one never showed because of traffic(traffic
lights were out) and just plain nasty weather. This will pass though.
We all sounded interested in the play so this will be fun. I just
have to keep the talc handy until the chafing passes.
